Spanning 16.5 kilometres in length, Villach Alpine Road proceeds up to the Dobratsch – Villach’s local mountain. Taking in seven hairpin bends, several gentle bends and with a moderate incline, this mountain road winds its way up to 1200 metres altitude – to Rosstratte, the end and high point of Villach Alpine Road. On the way to the top, this panoramic road offers superb viewing points, spanning three countries – extending to the Julian Alps in Italy and Slovakia, and to the Karawanken in Carinthia.
